I'm an internet junkie that is obsessed with books. I own more than I will ever read in this lifetime and yet I'm still compelled
to buy more. I read mostly romance (mild to completely smutty), YA and urban fantasy.
So today's theme is a book with a dark theme. I will be honest with you, I tend to stay away from anything too dark. I'm much more about light and humorous. So, I picked one non-fiction book and one fiction book that I thought were pretty dark.
The Stranger Beside Me is about Ted Bundy. You can't get much darker than that. I will admit that despite my light fluffy reading preferences, I do have an interest in serial killers... I guess I'm a little dark and twisty inside. At any rate, this book actually scared me to the point I had to sleep with the lights on.
Hysteria is a YA book about a girl that kills her boyfriend. It was really spooky at first but ultimately it was a bit of a let down. I feel like the author could've done so much more with it. The ending was extremely anti-climactic.
