Tackling Mt. TBR

So many things happened in this book that I'm not even sure what I just read. There were a lot of twists in this one and I think the whole Trust-No-One-X-Files thing definitely applies here.

This book picks up where Obsidian left off and shows how Kat is changing after Daemon heals her. Many interesting things come to light, relationships are tested and not everyone makes it out alive. I found the book extremely readable and I was definitely flipping pages to see how everything was going to play out. There is a bit of a cliffhanger ending here, but it wasn't as intense as I thought it would be based on some things I had heard.

As for negatives, my main problem was Kat. I loved her in Obsidian, but in this book I often found her frustrating. So many things could've been different if she would've communicated better with Daemon or even just followed her own gut instincts which she often wrote off as paranoia. In the situation she was in, paranoia was a good thing. I did appreciate that she understood and accepted the mistakes that she made and I look forward to seeing how she grows in the next book.
