I'm an internet junkie that is obsessed with books. I own more than I will ever read in this lifetime and yet I'm still compelled
to buy more. I read mostly romance (mild to completely smutty), YA and urban fantasy.
I really enjoyed this book. Watching Auden grow into herself was really great to read. She had been so focused on academics and I think a lot of her parents bad traits had rubbed off on her, so when she went to stay with her father and his new wife and actually started making friends and met Eli, I really liked seeing her realize the unpleasant traits in her parents and also in herself. And I liked that in the end her parents ended up learning from her. She overcame a lot of fears and prejudices towards people who she considered "silly." I did at times find her decisions frustrating, but the mistakes taught her things and I appreciated that.
I adored Eli. He had been through an accident in which he lost his best friend and had basically become a bit of a recluse. When he started helping Auden with her "quest" he was able to find his way back to himself. I think he was a great match for her because he challenged the way she thought about things with out judging her.Auden's friends were really great as well. At the beginning I was worried they were going to be the "mean girls" of the book, but they befriended her despite a shaky start. Overall a really nice read that left me smiling at the end.
